REC backshells

Standard, cross-referenced and custom backshell solutions manufactured by REC.

REC manufactures backshells for its core 5015 and MIL-C-26482 Series I connector ranges and for many other connector families and operating environments. Standard materials, finishes, interfaces and styles are available, alongside custom designs for requirements that do not fit an existing part number.

Our team can cross-reference products from military specifications and manufacturers including Polamco/TE, Glenair and Amphenol, then provide a compatible replacement or develop an improved solution.

Cross-referencing

We can work from an existing military or manufacturer part number, including M85049 and compatible commercial ranges, to identify or build a drop-in replacement.

Providing solutions

REC EGM adapters can combine EMI/RFI shielding, ingress protection and strain relief without tools, straps or heat-shrink boots, reducing assembly time and cost.

Cost reduction

REC alternatives help control cost and lead time when established manufacturer pricing or availability becomes difficult.

Custom design

We can develop backshells around the required size, shape, connector interface and material when a standard design is not suitable.

Materials and finishes

Available materials include aluminium, bronze and stainless steel. Finish options include olive-drab cadmium, electroless nickel, black zinc nickel, zinc cobalt and black anodised finishes.

Styles and interfaces

Styles include MS3057 cable clamps, PG, EGM, PHM and CG banding adapters, heat-shrink boot adapters, EMI/RFI designs and thread adapters. Interfaces include 5015, MIL-DTL-26482 Series I and II, MIL-DTL-38999 Series I to IV, and MIL-DTL-83723 Series I and III.
